Solution structure of the Nereis diversicolor Sarcoplasmic Calcium-binding Protein

Solution structure, obtained by NMR spectroscopy, of the Nereis diversicolor Sarcoplasmic Calcium-binding Protein in Ca2+-bound form (Craescu C. T., unpublished results). In absence of metal ion (Ca2+ or Mg2+) the protein is a molten globule and binding of the first ion induces formation of the bound structure [1]. Structural stability is strongly dependent on the presence and type of bound metal ion [2].
